i'm like a squirrel!!

haha... i was a squirrel over the past weekend! I went back to toronto on thursday and i started stuffing my face/cheeks with food NON-STOP!!

thurday night - had sushi with my mom and had some quality "mom time" @ home baking muffins... mmm

friday - woke up, ate big breakfast, ate lunch with mom, went shopping, went to congee wong with dad & mom, went shopping @ first markam with them, had dessert with sam... mmm

saturday - lunch @ maison du japon with emily, amanda, esther, warren, adrian and sam... (oh man, it was fun catching up with you guys over many plates of those SHORT RIBS and pizza cakes... haha, which only me and sam ate!), shopping with esther and spurlging!, came home to hot pot :D

sunday - church, lunch, napped, worked (haha, very little though), went to T& T to get more food, and then back into the ole k-town!

*sigh, what a weekend of food, catching up and spending quality time with those that i haven't seen in a while. Hope to do it again but MORE during Christmas! :)

praying like it matters...

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen; it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins”

love styles....

haha... for those of you who know, this semester i've been taking the infamous SEX CLASS in university. I actually have a midterm tommorow... and i'm sort of studying, but i found something really insightful that i thought i'd blog about. Although there are MANY things i could blog about my sex class... but i guess this is a censored site? haha... just jokes!

The Greek literature defined different love styles:

1) Eros - romantic, passionate love
2) Ludus - playful, permissive, game playing love
3) Storge - friendship love
4) Mania - possessive, dependent love
5) Pragma - practical love
6) Agape - selfless love

Apparently, the majority of males engage in ludus (game playing love) whereas females prefer more pragma and mania love. Interesting eh? No wonder people always say that guys and girls view relationships differently at times. hehe...

anyways, back to studying, although this helped me study :)

finding yourself...

one of the most insightful things that have occured to me lately... came from the series finale of "Sex and the City". Here's the excerpt of the ending of the show that really has a lot of meaning to what is shaping my life lately :)

“Later that day, I got thinking about relationships

There are those that open you up to something new and exotic

Those that are old and familiar

Those that bring up lots of questions

Those that bring you somewhere unexpected

Those that bring you far from where you started

And those that bring you back

But the most challenging, exciting and significant relationship of all,

Is the one you have with yourself

And if you find someone to love the “you” you love

Well… that’s just fabulous!!”
